At a young age, Melbourne-born Scot Plummer moved to the Northern Territory. Although he lived almost 40km away in a small town called Humpty Doo, he completed both primary and secondary school in Darwin. Growing up on a small five-acre property, Dr. Plummer spent a lot of time caring for cats, chickens, dogs, ducks, geese, guinea fowl and goats. This is when his love of animals began, prompting a move to Brisbane in 1990 so he could study Veterinary Science at the University of Queensland.
Dr. Plummer returned to the Northern Territory after graduating where he spent 15 months working at a mixed practice, then another 15 months at a small animal practice. After this, he returned to Melbourne and purchased the South Eastern Animal Hospital in 1997. More than 20 years later, Dr. Plummer found himself back in Brisbane, offering affordable treatments to pet owners at Brisbane Pet Surgery. In May 2023, he has expanded his practice back to Victoria with Melbourne Pet Surgery.
Having always had a passion in caring for small animals (from dogs and cats to pocket pets like birds and guinea pigs), Dr. Plummer soon realised that surgery is often the best way to improve their quality of life.
